Resistance to aphids in sweet pepper
Aphids can be a major problem in the cultivation of sweet peppers. They cause direct damage to the foliage, flowers and fruits.
However, the main damage they make is indirectly, by transmitting viruses. Biological control with parasitic wasps is applied but is expensive, and not always adequate because the aphids grow and reproduce very quickly. We study the possibilities for the development of varieties with resistance to aphids, which will be beneficial to both organic and non-organic cultivation of sweet pepper.
