Modelling food and water systems
As can be concluded from the other clips on food system transitions in Bangladesh, food and water systems cannot be seen separated: they are always interdependent. However, they are often modelled independently, leading to a narrow focus. In SWAP-WOFOST and LPJmL, a more holistic approach is used in which plants, soil and water are modelled all together, contributing to meaningful outputs that can help with thinking about future possibilities in global river deltas.
