High sensitivity, how does it work?

People differ in how sensitive they are to environmental stimuli such as light, noise or crowds. People who have an increased sensitivity to these stimuli are called highly sensitive people (HSP). High sensitivity is not a condition but a trait related to becoming overstimulated more quickly by environmental factors. One in five people appears to be highly sensitive. This can be difficult at work, but you can certainly also benefit from it.

Corina Greven, professor of Environmental Sensitivity in Health at Radboud UMC, conducts research into the personal experiences of highly sensitive people. What is the impact of HSP and how do people organize their working lives accordingly? According to Prof. Greven, overstimulation is mainly a character trait that is not always easy, but certainly has it’s positive sides.

On January 23, she will talk about her research and also about her personal findings as a highly sensitive person. Do you recognize any of the above or are you interested in the topic, then come to the lecture in Impulse.
