Target audience

Sustainability managers and CSR advisors from processing companies, suppliers, trade associations, industry organisations and retail. Consultants and other advisors in this sector are also welcome, as well as financial officers, government employees and others working in close relation with companies in the dairy sector.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this programme, you will be able to

  • Apply the obtained insights to identify opportunities and collaborate on how to reduce carbon emissions in own work practice (in the dairy chain).
  • Describe how and where CO2 (and other GHG) emissions occur in the Dairy chain.
  • Engage with different stakeholder perspectives on this issue.
  • Analyse how to reduce emissions hotspots.
  • Explore the practical implications of NetZero innovations, inspired by real cases

Programme

This course consists of 5 days (2 days in Wageningen and 3 days in Leeuwarden). Throughout this course, there will be group work and an individual assignment to help you develop a course of action for your own organisation. There will be contributions from several hosts and speakers from the agro industry, like Nestlé, Friesland Campina, PPP Agro and Danone.

Day 3, Wednesday 4 June 2025: Farm & Feed Management

Day 4, Thursday 5 June 2025: Animal & Manure Management

Accommodation
Participants who prefer one or more overnights stay need to make their own hotel reservations.
For June 2 (Wageningen Campus), we recommend Hotel WICC or Fletcher Hotel, but there are more hotels nearby.
For June 3-6 (Dairy Campus, Leeuwarden) we recommend WestCord WTC Hotel or Hotel Van der Valk, among others.

Transport to field visits
We supply bus-transport from Wageningen to Leeuwarden and back, to and from the hotel to the Dairy Campus in Leeuwarden and to the field visits.
