Cost-efficiency

This workpackage is dedicated to the Cost-efficient road mitigation strategies for wildlife aims to answers the question of what type and how much road mitigation is needed to cost-efficiently protect populations and meet the legal and policy requirements defined earlier in Policy for roads and wildlife workpackage.

Activities:

  • Modelling performances of mitigation strategies
  • Cost-benefit analysis: wildlife and traffic safety

Deliverables:

  • Publication of a technical report on modeling performances of mitigation strategies, with the results of the comparative analysis of road mitigation strategies with reference to case studies.
  • Publication of technical report on the cost-benefit analysis with the results of the cost-benefit analyses of wildlife collision prevention in Europe.
  • Scientific publication on the relative effect of changes in barrier and mortality effects of roads on wildlife population viability.
