Project
Online training of the Use of Machine Learning in DestinE
Through collaborative partnerships and innovative educational approaches, we aim to enhance the use of Machine Learning (ML) within the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, and in the earth system modelling and weather forecasting fields. The online trainings represent a strategic effort to empower professionals across Europe to apply ML in their work, enhancing the impact of the DestinE program.
Project description
The ML training project is a collaborative initiative led by Wageningen University (WU) as main contractor and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Wageningen Research (WENR) as sub-contractors to develop three online trainings with the scope of the use of machine learning (ML) in DestinE initiative. Our objective is to create three engaging and impactful online trainings that empower technical individuals and organizations to understand how ML could be utilized for earth system modelling and weather forecasting. These three ML trainings will link the DestinE ML activities and help to promote the Digital Twin and Digital Twin Engine. Our potential key stakeholders are scientists, national meteorological services, climate centres, and technical staff at European organisations, industry and business. With our experience in developing trainings, these various groups from different organisations will feel confident and capable in using ML in their professional works, thereby enhancing the societal impact of the DestinE initiative.
