T.S. Ashton Prize for Tom Westland
We are delighted to share that our colleague Tom Westland has been awarded the T.S. Ashton Prize by the Economic History Society at this year’s annual conference in Glasgow.
The prize is awarded for the best paper published by a young scholar in the Economic History Review. Tom received the award for his co-authored paper with Emiliano Travieso, titled "What happened to the workshop of West Africa? Resilience and decline of handicraft textiles in colonial northern Nigeria, 1911–52"
This recognition highlights the important contribution their research makes to the field of economic history, and we warmly congratulate Tom on this outstanding achievement!
