New colleague Lian Kasper joined ELS per October 2024
During my studies Landscape Architect at WUR, my fascination grew in the area of the involvement and level of care people feel within their local landcape and with nature.
Following this interest, I schooled myself in 'nature-inclusive' educational methods that question and explore people's connection to nature. This includes embodied outdoor learning exercises, but also reflection and sharing exercises to investigate the relational aspects and topics like climate related emotions. Some of you may know me from the elective ELS course 'Exploring Regenerative Cultures for Sustainability' that I teach in period 6b, which applies many of these teaching methods. My new role (0.3 fte) at ELS under the European Consortium project eNaBlS will allow me to help set up a Living Lab at WUR on Nature Inclusive Education. The living lab combines existing projects like the Teacher Trainingon Nature Inclusive Teaching we developed with the Teaching and Learnings Center, but also invites new initiatives and the active engagement of teaching staff in experimenting with and evaluating nature inclusive teaching methods within a community of practice.
