New insight: the influence of redox condities on pharmaceutical removal

Published on

The removal of pharmaceuticals from wastewater is highly complex and dictated by multiple parameters. Research at the Wageningen University by Arnoud de Wilt and his colleagues has demonstrated that redox conditions influence the pharmaceutical removal by affecting the biodegradation and sorption of these insidious compounds. Obtained insights can be applied for the implementation of pilot-scale projects and further research.
