FOSC midterm workshop

FOSC has reached its midterm phase. A two-day workshop in Cairo was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration withthe International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies from November 30th to December 1st 2022. The FOSC consortium partners, funders, and project coordinators were invited. In total, 46 people attended in person and 63 people joined online. The workshop was filled with project updates, discussions about monitoring, evaluation, and communication of projects, and the FOSC knowledge platform.

The 17 projects funded by the 2019 call presented their activities up to their midterm stage. Those projects investigate various research topics such as saline agriculture, climate-resilient crops, integrated farming systems for circular agriculture, upcycling side-streams, and food supply chain. In addition, the scope of monitoring and the tool to submit the project’s midterm report was presented. The day was finalized with a workshop organized by the FOSC Knowledge Platform was held. The project coordinators searched for common topics, synergies, and possibilities for collaboration among the projects.
