Food Loss and Waste Country Profiles
In this section, we provide Food Loss and Waste (FLW) country profiles for China, Colombia, Kenya and Vietnam, to guide targeted FLW reduction measures. Prioritizing hotspot food products and chain stages not only reduces FLW but also decreases greenhouse gas emissions, land use, water footprints, and nutrient losses. Such an approach not only reduces the ecological footprint in many sensitive domains but also aligns with achieving food and nutrient security. Policymakers, philanthropic organizations, NGOs and chain actors can use the FLW country profiles to select impactful food products for FLW reduction, addressing multiple sustainability objectives simultaneously.
