FACCE ERA-GAS is the ERA-NET Cofund for monitoring & mitigation of Greenhouse gases from agri- and silvi-culture. The aim of ERA-GAS is to strengthen the transnational coordination of research programmes and provide added value to research and innovation on greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation in the European Research Area. ERA-GAS is initiated by the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI).
FACCE ERA-GAS GHG Research Breakfast Club
FACCE ERA-GAS is inviting interested post-docs and PhD students for the Breakfast Club sessions. The first three will be on April 16th, 23rd and 30th. The initiative will include presentations from eminent scientists on cutting edge research topics related to GHG monitoring and mitigation from agriculture and forestry, and career development presentations for PhD students and post-docs.

!!! SEMINAR FOR APPLICANTS TO THE 2021 JOINT CALL ON CIRCULARITY
The webinar will take place on
31st March 2021 from 14:30 to 16:00 (Brussels time)
Aim of the webinar is to present the call process, the scope and the submission platform to potential applicants and to clarify questions around the 2021 Joint Call.
“Circularity in mixed crop and livestock farming systems, with emphasis on greenhouse gas mitigation”
The ERA-NET Cofunds SusAn (Sustainable Animal Production Systems), FACCE ERA-GAS (Monitoring & Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases from Agri- and Silvi-culture), ICT-AGRI-FOOD (ICT-enabled agri-food systems) and SusCrop (Sustainable Crop Production) will launch a joint call for transnational interdisciplinary research projects. This call is about research on (re-) integration of crop and livestock farming systems with the aim to enhance circularity between these systems and thereby improve the sustainability of farms.
Successful kick-off seminar for the ERA-GAS, SusAn and ICT-AGRI joint call research projects on 18 November. The 8 projects of the 2018 Call on Novel technologies, solutions and systems to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of animal production systems (joint call together with the ERA-NET for monitoring & mitigation of Greenhouse gases from agri- and silvi-culture (FACCE ERA-GAS) and the ERA-NET on ICT and robotics for sustainable agriculture (ICT AGRI 2)) had their kick-off seminar on 18 November. The 83 attendees were introduced to the latest results of the joint call projects. The coordinators demonstrated successful transnational research that is performed by the 8 projects. During the last year these research consortia started their project. The main purpose of this meeting was for the project consortia to provide insight of their ongoing research.

METHLAB coordinator Prof. Catherine Stanton presented on FACCE-JPI 10 Year Event “A world in transition: Journey towards a sustainable future” on 26 and 27 November
FACCE ERA-GAS funded project of the 2016 Joint Call METHLAB gave a presentation as one of the highlighted science projects in the Session 'Scientific Debate - The critical role of science: Learning from the past to cope with future challenges'. METHLAB, presented by Catherine Stanton, brings together a global network on research on lactic acid bacteria enriched fodder, for reduction of animal GHG. The project has drawn much attention from national policy makers, and Stanton emphasises that ‘getting the right messages to the right people is very important’.
