Finished: The development of Hemerocallis ‘Wageningen Centennial’

Amateur breeder Seerp Wigboldus selected a new variety of Daylily from hundreds of seedlings. These were the offspring of crossings he made between varieties with interesting features.

From 2016 to 2018 Seerp followed the development of the seedlings on the Field. June 2018 he offered the best one to Louise Fresco, Chair of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). The plant was named Hemerocallis ‘Wageningen Centennial’ in honour of the 100th anniversary of WUR. Seerp has officially registered Hemerocallis ‘Wageningen Centennial’ at the American Daylily Society and started to propagate the plant. See also the article in Resource (only in Dutch).
