Mowing of waterways and trimming the hedges on campus

WUR has an agreement with the Water Authority to keep the waterways on campus maintained to ensure a good through-flow. To give nature as much room as possible only one bank will be mowed where possible.

This will happen in an alternating manner where sections will be mowed on each bank. The sections that were not mowed in spring will be mowed in autumn. This is a departure from previous policy and was started last year; it increases biodiversity and saves money.

The waterways and hedges along the Droevendaalsweg will be mowed and trimmed starting next week.
